#ISBFXI Is GO!
13 years.
Who knew that that stupid moment of weakness, when I agreed to “organise” a Beer Festival (to help raise funds for St Sebastian’s Community Centre) would result in a post like this.
13 years.
13 years of friendship. 13 years of community. 13 years of – simply put – quirkiness!
There’s nothing quite like ISBF.
One of the best selection of beers you’ll find in one place. But no bells. No whistles.
No “Best this” or “Greatest ever that....” That’s not who we are.
No expansive Live Music line ups. No ticker tape. No self-generated hype.
That’s not who we are.
The Simple Things (the cheque is in the post Phil!). Relaxed. Comfy. Sit if you want to – there’s plenty of seating – stand if you like. Busy, but never rammed. It’s how we like it.
That’s who we are.
Friendly. Simple. Uncomplicated. Family.
That’s who we are.
Yes, ISBF is about great beer, beautiful cider & perry. But what it is MOST about is Friendship. Community. Love. The simple things. Done right
Friends coming together. From all over the UK.
Year. After. Year.
That’s who we are.
People who get the point. Raising vital funds for the loveliest local charity, START Inspiring Minds. A charity dear to the entire ISBF Family. Last year you raised £16,000, the most we have ever raised.
This matters hugely to a charity like START. Something that cannot be overstated.
THAT’S who we are.
Nor can the time and love poured in by the #ISBFFamily. The loveliest bunch of humans that come together (many of them each year since 2014) to make this thing happen.
You know who you are. Thank you all. You make ISBF an event that people want to return to, year after year.
Anyhow. Stuff. And Beer.
We have 2 Side Events / Tastings.
1. On the Friday Evening Session, Dan from Fyne Ales Origins Project will lead a guided tasting and talk around the history of the Origins Project. How Time & Place guide the beers. Been trying to get Fyne to ISBF. Can’t wait for this! (There’ll be some special beers to sample! Tickets £10)
2. On the Saturday Lunch Session, the Inspiration (to me) that is Melissa Cole will be leading a Beer & Cheese tasting/matching – even I’ll be buying a ticket for this one! Note : The beers will be small pack. Not from the bar. (Tickets £20)
Tickets for both of these chats will be released soon.
Since 2016 – when I was told directly (remember, Rob?) that I wouldn’t be able to do this again – almost (if not all) the entire ISBF beer list features beers that are “first pour” in Manchester. It’s a challenge, believe me, but it’s one that I embrace.
What this means is that we don’t know the actual beer list until the week of the event. But we do know the brewery list. Well, most of it (a few International beers will come nearer the time_
